Most of southern Ontario, and the more developed areas of Northern Ontario, are within the boundary of a Conservation Authority. The South Nation jurisdiction contains 16 municipalities in Eastern Ontario.
From headwaters north of Brockville, the South Nation River flows northeast for 175 km, and empties into the Ottawa River near Plantagenet. The jurisdiction covers 4,480 km2 of complex ecosystems.
