#3 St. Lawrence Lowlands forest

The Great Lakes–St. Lawrence Lowlands forest is an eco-region of Ontario, Quebec, New York, and Vermont that was carved out by ice sheets about 10,000 years ago. The presence of deep soils in the watershed created healthy forest ecosystems that are dominated by sugar maple, American beech, white pine, red pine and red oak.
