SNC to Host Annual Fundraising Golf Tournament on Aug. 9 at Nation Golf Club
South Nation Conservation (SNC) will be hosting their annual Friends of SNC Golf Tournament this year at Nation Golf Club in Plantagenet on Thursday, August 9. All funds raised at the tournament will go towards the relocation of SNC’s flagship Maple Education Program.
Tournament registration includes an 18-hole round of “best ball” golf, a powered cart, a breakfast buffet and a barbecue lunch. Prizes from local businesses including Beau’s Brewery and St-Albert Cheese will be awarded, and RBC Royal Bank is sponsoring the tournament with a hole-in-one cash prize for those feeling particularly lucky. Players can also expect door prizes and on-hole games and contests.
SNC suspended its annual Maple Education Program this year and hopes to return in the spring of 2019 to host students at a new site. Funds raised at this golf tournament will help create accessible trails and demonstration infrastructure at SNC’s new Oschmann Forest, recently donated to the Authority. The not-for-profit educational program hosts over 1,000 students a year, providing them with a hands-on and environmental learning experience at a local sugar shack.
Registration is $100 per player. SNC accepts both team and singles registration. Local businesses are also invited to sponsor the event; three different tiers of sponsorship are available at affordable rates ranging from $100 to $500. Donations for door prizes are likewise welcomed.
