Governance Overview

South Nation Conservation (SNC) is governed by a Board of Directors that provides strategic leadership, policy direction, and oversight to ensure the organization fulfills its mandate to protect people, property, and natural resources across the watershed.

The Board of Directors is made up of representatives appointed by SNC’s member municipalities, reflecting the communities served within the watershed. The Board is responsible for setting SNC’s strategic priorities, approving policies, budgets, and programs, and ensuring accountability, transparency, and sound decision-making.

To support its work, the Board is assisted by the Watershed Advisory Committee and subcommittees that focus on specific areas of governance and organizational oversight. These committees review matters in detail, provide recommendations, and help guide informed decision-making at the Board level.

Together, the Board of Directors and its committees support effective governance, uphold SNC’s legislative responsibilities, and ensure conservation programs and services are delivered in a manner that is locally informed, fiscally responsible, and aligned with provincial requirements.
